Around the world in a fortnight.

With Phil running a business and Will in fulltime education, their challenge will fit into the holidays, leaving the car somewhere safe (hopefully), flying home after each leg, and then returning back to the car when the next holiday allows.

Travelling west, the total journey will be more than 40,000 miles, with at least 24,901 miles of this by road, equalling the length of Earth’s equator.

Travelling through New Zealand on the far side of the world, the route back to London will include its antipodal point in Spain.

Leg 1: London to Liverpool - Departed February 2023

From London to Liverpool, and then put on a ship to New York.
Driving: 300 miles.
Leg 2: New York to Mexico - Departed March 2023

From New York, through the south east of the USA and to the far east of Mexico.
Driving: 6,000 miles.
Leg 3: Mexico to Costa Rica - Departed October 2023

A challenging leg through Central America, with a lot of borders to cross.
Driving: 2,000 miles.
Leg 4: Costa Rica to Colombia - Departed July 2024

Into Panama as the end of Central America, flying the car into Colombia.
Driving: 900 miles.
Leg 5: Colombia to Peru - Departed December 2024

Down the west coast of South America, into Ecuador and Peru.
Driving: 2,000 miles.
Leg 6: Peru to Chile - Departed June 2025

Into Chile, east to cross the Andes into Argentina, down the east coast before crossing back into Chile at its most southerly point. Ship to New Zealand.
Driving: 5,200 miles.
Leg 7: New Zealand - Departed December 2025

From Auckland in the north to the far south of South Island. Ship to Australia.
Driving: 1,600 miles.
Leg 8: Australia

From Sydney to Perth, including the Nullabor Plain. Ship to India.
Driving: 2,400 miles.
Leg 9: India and Nepal

From Kolkata in the east, north into Nepal and then west to Kandla. Ship to Dubai.
Driving: 1,900 miles.
Leg 10: United Arab Emirates to Turkey

Travelling up the east coast of the Middle East to Kuwait and then across Iraq into Turkey.
Drive: 2,500 miles.
Leg 11: Turkey to United Kingdom

Back into Europe, to the Mediterranean coast and Spain, before heading back north to home.
Driving: 3,300 miles.
