Around the world in a fortnight.

Carbon neutral, every mile behind the wheel will be offset with Net-Hero. The drivers will buy carbon credits, with each credit representing 1 ton of carbon dioxide captured from the atmosphere and stored permanently, thereby neutralising the V8 Vantage’s carbon footprint. www.net-hero.org

With Phil running a business and Will in fulltime education, their challenge will fit into the holidays, leaving the car somewhere safe (hopefully), flying home after each leg, and then returning back to the car when the next holiday allows.

Travelling west, it is hoped that by the time they get towards the end of their road trip that world events will then allow a crossing back into Europe.

Total journey of more than 40,000 miles, with at least 24,901 miles of this by road, equalling the length of Earth’s equator.

Leg 1: London to Liverpool - Departed February 2023

From London to Liverpool, and then put on a ship to New York.
Driving: 200 miles.
Leg 2: New York to Mexico - Departed March 2023

From New York, through the south east of the USA and to the far east of Mexico.
Driving: 5,500 miles.
Leg 3: Mexico to Panama - Departed October 2023

A challenging leg through Central America, culminating with a ship to Colombia.
Driving: 1,800 miles.
Leg 4: Colombia to Peru

Through Colombia and Ecuador, picking up the Pacific road down the length or Peru.
Driving: 3,000 miles.
Leg 5: Peru to Tierra del Fuego

The west coast of South America to the most southerly point. Ship to New Zealand.
Driving: 3,900 miles.
Leg 6: New Zealand to Australia

Up through New Zealand, across to Australia and keep going north. Ship to Vietnam.
Driving: 3,500 miles.
Leg 7: Vietnam to Malaysia

Across Southeast Asia, finishing in Kuala Lumpur. Ship to India.
Driving: 1,800 miles.
Leg 8: India to Pakistan

From Chennai, up to the Waghar Border and then down to Karachi. Ship to Dubai.
Driving: 2,400 miles.
Leg 9: Dubai to London

This is the tricky part, with no safe route currently existing.
Driving: 4,200 miles.

2023 Challenge: Pall Mall to Panama

The Vantage World Tour departed the Royal Automobile Club on London’s Pall Mall on 26th February 2023, with Phil and Will heading north for a rendezvous with a ship bound for New York.

After a 3,300 mile sea crossing, the team departed New York at the end of March, criss-crossing the Midwest and then south down through the United States and from the north of Mexico to the far east, leaving the car in Cancun before heading home.

Picking it up again in October, Central America provided plenty of countries to experience: Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, but a closed border prevented the team from reaching their target of Panama.
